We all want Google to rank our content on first page, no question!
But unfortunately there is lack of knowledge about Google algorithm.
Not anymore!
Google reveal its E-A-T (Expertise, Authoritative, Trustworthy) quality guidelines and in this article I will showcase every single part of it with live examples.
Here are the criteria for high quality content according to the document:

In a few words: Google wants not only perfect, informative and useful content, he wants proof source with expertise and authoritativeness that people trust.
Let me show you the key to understand the Google E-A-T!
Expertise = Show
Authoritative = Us
Trustworthy = Proof
It is so I called “Show Us Proof” strategy.
Here are a few showcases from the BEST RANKED Digital Marketing bloggers on Google to understand me better:
Show [your expertise, diploma, certificates etc.]
Here is how Avinash Kaushik from https://www.kaushik.net done really great about this point:
David Pogue from http://davidpogue.com/ Shows it right away with BIG letters in his about page “Founder of Yahoo tech”

Same does Richard Krawczyk from http://www.themrblueprint.com/ “co-founder of PayZilla…. As one of top 10% social media influencers worldwide…” and so on, and so forth…

I could not help myself and use google translate to find how his name originally sounds. You can try it too:

Sorry Richard, no bad filings.
Us [How speaks for you? For how many people believe you are an authority?]
The SEO blogger B.J. Mendelson from https://bjmendelson.com has whole “in the news” section on his blog:

https://www.gotchseo.com/ has referrals logos form the top magazines and digital marketing websites in the world right away on the main page of his blog:

And Jordan Kasteler form http://www.jordankasteler.com/ have special “press” page on its marketing blog with all his interviews starting with one for the SEJ (search engine journal):

Time for double check!
Now let’s change the angle and apply Google own E-A-T quality standard to the results on first page when searching the keyword “Google E-A-T quality standard”.
Here are the results as of 26.01.2017 when searching this term:

Here I create a chart using the evaluation algorithm pointed in the Google EAT quality guidelines to score the pages ranked from 1 to 10 on first page. I score every website with all four parameters from 0 to 10.
Here is the result:

As you see I accept that “Website reputation” and “Website information” (which basically stands for malicious website behavior and information about the author and the organization) are all 10 points for all of the sites understandably.
Than ranked MC (main content) quantity following the guidelines. The Sempost and Expresswriters have a few time more contend than anybody else in the list, so they get extra + to mark that.
Now the interesting part!
Because it is very hard to assume the score given to the third column which stands for E-A-T I assume that the numbers in all other columns are close enough to the true and use this to fill out that column according to the rank on the 1 google page from 1 to 10. But decreasingly so the first result gets 10 points.
Let’s now calculate the total score for every page!
Here are the results:

Surprisingly the double check gives very similar results as first google page!
Only Forbes and Expresswriters seems to be little underestimated.
Not bad, ha!

New Mobile approach! – “Needs Met Rating”

Here a showcase of “FullyM” raiting.
If I search the weather forecast of the City of Sofia where I live in currently and go my favorite forecast website:

I will not go to any other page searching for more information about the topic.
Now let’s make the things harder!
When we have a more complicated topic, how to present the information to both – keep the focus and in the same time give all the information without to overwhelm the audience?
Here you example:
I have KIA Shortage CUV vehicle and I’d try to find more info about its engine.

My car needs a car wash [: embraced:]
Here is a great example of how Wikipedia when I decide to read more about my car engine (I have KIA Sportage CUV):

With these clever droboxes that appear only on mobile devices Wikipedia can add as much as content needed without to overwhelm me because I can unfold what I need in any moment.
In the same time the information is so complete that I’ll rarely go for another search. If you can apply this to your website, do not hesitate!
At the end as a bonus, a short video I create for Google E-A-T Quality Guidelines:
